The What

The Pushpin is a curated showcase of giclée prints for sale from comic artists and editorial illustrators, designed to connect creators with their admirers, as well as provide inspiration for those looking to discover something new. 

The site, which launched in June 2017, offers high-quality giclée prints from top talents and under-the-radar illustrators alike. We keep the site small, with carefully selected work that is bold and playful. 

The artists here are all Canadian, but genius is everywhere, so we will be expanding our borders in upcoming months, adding new work all the time.

The Who

The Pushpin is a project of Papergirl Press, a small printing company in Toronto that works exclusively with independent artists. The pair of complementary projects were launched by a former newspaper editor, after she caught the printing bug reproducing work for her comic artist husband. Now she wants everyone to have wall treasure. 

The Goods

Without artists, there would not be a Pushpin, so most of the proceeds go to the artist. Shopping here supports a working artist, and a small business all at the same time. Not too shabby!

And we only do business with companies we like. We source all supplies locally, bank with a credit union, and our default paper is an irresistible cotton rag that is made in the USA from a by-product of cottonseed oil production that would otherwise go into landfill. We find this waste subversion thrilling — especially when the results are so gorgeous.
